I've started working at African Tyres on 27 March 2023. At first Jan Wentzel who is the manager at Colesberg branch told me he is willing to pay me R1000 per month and later on will increase my salary. As time goes I started to work long hours and do everything from going out to call-outs on trucks and cars but didn't paid me for the work I've done. The R1000 he was giving me was only for the work I've done at the shop and not for the truck tyres and call-outs I've done. For 3 months he didn't paid me and I've even hurt my back. When I started to tell him about that he always said he will sort it out. The was even a time I told him I'm going to talk with the main boss (Morny Pace),still he would say no I mustn't worry he going to sort things out, which he never did. I gave him everytime time to make things right but he didn't. I could leave the job cause I need the money,although it's R1000 per month because I must provide. After the unpaid 3 month I still does everything which he then give me R100 per call-out and I worked for more then a year there, never is absent at work, worked in every weather conditions. 17 October 2024 I quit the work because it's been more then a year and I still didn't received that 3 months unpaid money,still he didn't increase the R1000 he was giving me per month. Jan Wentzel even ignored me everytime i ask for a contract. On 17 October 2024 I've met with the main boss Morny Pace to tell him about all of these things and he said to me that he did send salaries to Jan Wentzel to pay the workers,which Jan Wentzel never paid me (I have voice recordings of the conversation between me and Morny Pace)(I have witnesses that can say that Jan Wentzel didn't paid me for 3 months) African Tyres Colesberg must shut down because they are even busy with child-Labour and don't pay the people,they don't give people even contracts
